While Kajuraho's old town lies some 500 meteres otside, the new town is a bustling and entirely tourism driven settlement. After experiencing the bigger cities, however, it feels absolutely tranquil and is wonderful to explore on foot. That is if you manage to rid yourself of swarms of boys trying to sell you anything but their own sister - yes, it is a different culture and probably the constant attempts to draw Westerns into shops and sell overpriced grossly overprived goods and services must be accepted as the flip side of Indian non-stop industriousness. And as we are dealing in cultural stereotypes: one cannot help but ask why most black people in Southern Africa lack this type of drive, and what they could achieve for themselves if they had just 30% of it.
