This 31m high temple built 1025-1050 is the tallest building in the complex. Its walls are lined with ofer 870 statues, many of them dedicated to the representation of female beauty and tantric sexual positions. The centre spire - called Sikhara - is a phallic Shiva symbol which is decorated with some 80 replicas of itself. Through ist worshipping HIndus hope to attain deliverance from the eternal cycle of reincarnations.
